Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ethixly.
What does ethixly actually do?
We surface real, anonymous insight from people inside an organisation so funders can assess leadership quality, cultural health, and values alignment. It functions as cultural due diligence: a way to see what’s really happening behind the pitch deck.
Why would an investor use this?
Because cultural risk is investment risk. ethixly helps you:
- Spot red flags early
- Validate whether a founder’s behaviour matches their stated values
- Understand how a team experiences leadership
- Track improvement or deterioration over time
ethixly is a clarity tool, not a PR exercise.
What does the report include?
A consolidated assessment based on all verified submissions:
- Key themes (leadership, governance, integrity, decision-making, equity)
- Volume and distribution of feedback
- Repeated patterns or critical risks
- Optional organisation response or action plan
The report is designed to be read alongside your commercial and financial due diligence.
How do you verify submissions?
We check every submission manually and confirm the contributor’s employment through LinkedIn or other evidence. Identifying information is removed before publication, but verification is strict to avoid noise or bad-faith input.
How is anonymity protected?
Identities are never disclosed to the organisation being reviewed. Only the ethixly team sees raw data for verification. Any published insight is fully anonymised and held to GDPR standards.
What if feedback is inaccurate or malicious?
If a company disputes something, they can submit evidence. We review and correct genuine errors, but we don’t remove content simply because it’s uncomfortable. Accuracy matters; censorship doesn’t serve anyone.
Can I use this for multiple portfolio companies?
Yes. You can run reports across multiple startups and compare patterns across your portfolio. We can also create a recurring review schedule so you can monitor shifts between rounds.
Is this free?
- Free for team members submitting feedback.
- Organisations pay if they use the platform internally.
- Funders pay for organisational reports. Pricing increases with portfolio scale.
How often is data updated?
Feedback is continuous. Reports can be generated quarterly or ad-hoc depending on your due-diligence requirements.
Do organisations have to respond?
No – but their response (or silence) becomes part of their accountability record. That signal alone is often telling.
Is the platform secure?
Yes. Data is encrypted, access is restricted, and everything is GDPR-compliant.
